3 Days Desert Tour From Fes

The 3 days desert tour from Fes is the best choice for people who arrive in Fes and desire to see the Sahara desert quickly. They can also visit Ifrane, which is known for its alpine-style building and ski areas that are close by.

It is only in Azrou’s cedar forest that you can find Barbary macaques, and the second-longest river in Morocco flows through Ziz Valley.

On our Fes to Merzouga desert trip, you will have more time to spend in the desert and see all the interesting places near the Erg Chebbi dunes, like the homes of the Berber nomads and the fossil mines. You should also ride a camel and spend a night in a camp on the Merzouga desert to see the sun rise and set over the dunes.

On the third day for your trip through the Fes desert, you’ll head back to Fes. Along the way, you can stop and take pictures or enjoy the view. After being driven to your hotel in the late afternoon or early evening, your 3 days desert tour from Fes via Merzouga comes to an end.

Tour Itinerary: 3 Days Desert Tour From Fes

Day 1: Fez to Atlas Mountains to Tiz'n Talghamt to Errachidia to Merzouga Desert

Your 3 days desert tour from Fes starts at 8:30 a.m., when the driver comes to pick you up from your Fes hotel. The middle Atlas Mountains will give us a beautiful view as we drive through Berber villages on our way to Merzouga.

Visit the beautiful city of Ifrane, which is sometimes called “Moroccan Switzerland.” Then, keep going to Azrou, a famous cedar forest where you can see monkeys. Finally, take a break for lunchtime in the town of Midelt.

Next, we’ll drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley to Erfoud, which is famous for its date market and fossils. On the way, we’ll stop to enjoy a stunning view of the oasis. It will be time to have dinner and a night’s stay at a lodging property in Merzouga by the time that we get there.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga area to Erg Chebbi to Camel Trek and Night at desert Camp

We will start our 3 Days Desert Tour From Fes to Merzouga to see the many interesting sights around the dunes of Erg Chebbi after breakfast at your hotel. First, we’ll stop to visit the Hassi Labied oasis to see its irrigation canal and farming. Then, we’ll head south to the Sriji lake, which is only active during certain times of the year.

You can listen to Gnawa music in Khamlia Village. This music comes from the dark-skinned populations that were brought to Morocco as refugees more than a hundred years ago and worked as slaves.

The M’ifis mines are next on our list. The rocks and fossils in the Merzouga desert are also well-known and bring in tourists. On our 4×4 trip through the Merzouga desert, we’ll have the chance to meet a Berber family who still lives in their tent in the middle of the Sahara. A cup of tea & chat with them will help us understand how people reside in the desert Sahara during our stay.

We will stop at a few scenic views to take in the view and enjoy the scenery. As soon as we get back from lunch at a nearby restaurant, you will go camel riding from the hamlet to the Berber Camp in Merzouga. During the break, you can watch the sunset, trying sandboarding if you’d like, or take photos and videos of the view. The camel ride lasts for about an hour and a half.

After these nice times, you’ll go back to the camp and be given a drink of tea. You can then take it easy until dinnertime. There will be traditional Berber drummer music after dinner, and you can enjoy the stars. You then spend the night in a mobile tent.

Day 3: Merzouga to Ziz valley to Errachidia to Midelt to Azrou to Ifrane to Fes

After a nice breakfast and a shower, you’ll be able to ride your camels back to where you began on the third day.  You’ll see the sun rise over the hill next to the camp. We could also take you there in a 4WD car.

After that, we’ll keep going to Fes through the Ziz Valley, which has the longest river in Morocco, and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you can stop for lunch at a spot with a view.

Afternoon, we’ll be on our way to Fes when we stop in Azrou’s Cedar woods. There, we’ll meet some wild monkeys and take a walk. We’ll finally get to Fes in the afternoon, and we’ll drive you to your hotel.
