Tour Itinerary: 4 Days Desert Tour From Fes

Day 1: Fes to Azrou (Cedar forest) to Midelt to Erfoud to Merzouga

Your 4 Days Desert Tour from Fes will start with a pick-up from your hotel or riad, then begin a 4 days, 3 nights drive via the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you will stop in a cedar forest to take some interesting pictures of the Barbarian Apes before continuing through the Atlas Mountains to take in the scenery of Midelt.

After lunch, we’ll keep going through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. When we get there, someone will give us a cup of tea, and we’ll spend our stay at a hotel or as riad.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga & Camel Trek

After breakfast, we’ll start our trip around the area by visiting a village of black people that are from Mali to learn about their songs and way of life.

Then we’ll go to Miffis Mines to find out more about how they work there. Finally, we’ll go down below the dunes and into a beautiful desert, where we’ll enjoy a hot cup of tea alongside a few Bedouins before going back to the hotel.

After a brief pause, your hosts will teach you how to mount and remove a camel and give you other safety tips. Then you will be ready to start exploring the mysterious Erg-Chebbi Sand Sea. You’ll spend the night in a Berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga to Ziz Vally to Todra Gorges & Dades Valley

Before going back to our hotel in the desert, we will get up early to see the most beautiful morning. The sun will make many shapes and colors over the greatest sand dune sea within all of Morocco. We will keep going to Tinghir and the beautiful Todra Gorge after breakfast. This is one of the most majestic and smallest valleys in all of Morocco.

There are great places to hike, relax by the water, and eat traditional Berber food in the pass. We’ll have a filling lunch in the pass and then keep going through the Dades Valley. To end the day, we’ll spend the night at a beautiful hotel on top of a mountain.

Day 4: Dades Valley to Ziz Valley to Midelt to Fes

After a great breakfast in Fes, we get ready for our 4 Days Desert Tour from Fes via Merzouga and back to Fes. From the Todgha Gorge, we’ll follow the Ziz Valley through palm trees until we reach a lookout point with a great view. We’ll stop for tea and enjoy the view.

The mountains are all around us as we travel to Midelt in the north. Nomadic groups with goat-hair huts could be seen in the fields. We continue our 4 days trip through the heart of the Atlas Mountains and forests after lunch. In the mountain town of Ifrane, we’ll stop for coffee. You can then feed the lively Barbary monkeys that live within the cedar trees.

We will say goodbye when we get to Fes in the late afternoon.
