4-Day Private Tour Itinerary from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Red City of Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Boumalne Dades Valley

The first day of the Marrakech-Merzouga tour starts with a drive through the Tizi NTishka Pass, crossing over the High Atlas Mountains (2260m) via winding paths. This route offers breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains range and the surrounding Berber villages in the adjacent valley. Our next stop will be the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular location for Hollywood films. You will have time to explore the site to learn about its historical significance in the region. And then lunch at a local restaurant adjacent to the kasbah.

Afterward, we continue our trip through Ouarzazate and the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, Kalaat M’Gouna, eventually reaching the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night in a hotel (such as Dar Ahlam Hotel or similar).

Day 2: Boumalne Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Merzouga.

On the second day, after breakfast, our tour will begin with new destinations towards Merzouga. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to make a stop at the town of Tinghir to explore a charming panoramic view of the Berber town and the adjacent river. Shortly after, we will take a detour to visit the Todra Gorge, an important destination for both locals and tourists. This breathtaking location offers stunning natural beauty. We will then continue our journey, passing through the cities of Erfoud and Rissani. Rissani holds historical significance as a former commercial hub of the Tafilalt region centuries ago. After 30 minutes, we will reach  Merzouga desert, where we will encounter a camel caravan before starting on an extraordinary journey across the sand dunes to witness the sunset. You will then head toward the camp where you will spend the night. After dinner, a traditional Berber concert awaits us.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Merzouga

On the third day, after breakfast at the camp, you will have free time to explore the Erg Chebbi desert or visit the Nomads and learn about their way of life. You can also inquire about the various activities available in the area, such as quad biking, dune buggy rides, or 4WD tours (additional costs may apply). Later, we will return to Merzouga, where you can enjoy some time at the swimming pool. And overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga – Alnif – Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

In the morning, you have the option to wake up early and witness the breathtaking sunrise while embracing the tranquility of the desert. After breakfast, our journey back to Marrakesh begins. We will pass through the towns of Alnif and N’koub, followed by the Daraa Valley, and eventually reach Ouarzazate, where we will stop for lunch. Afterward, we will continue our ascent through the High Atlas Mountains. We anticipate arriving in Marrakesh in the late evening, around 7:00 pm, and we will drop you off at your hotel.
