5 Days Desert Trip From Agadir

Day 1: Agadir - Taroudant - Taliouine - Draa Valley - Agdz

We start the first day of our 5 days desert tour from your hotel at 8:00 AM, heading towards Agdz and the High Atlas Mountains. On the way, we will visit the city of Taroudant, often referred to as “Little Marrakech,” with its charming architectural and traditional market surrounded by enchanting walls. We will have the opportunity to explore the city more closely.

Continuing the drive, we will reach the city of Taliouine, known for its cultivation of the valuable saffron spice, such as the vibrant red saffron. We can visit local cooperatives to learn more about saffron cultivation and production.

In the afternoon, as we continue our journey, we will enter the captivating Draa Valley, also known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” This palm-filled oasis stretches for over 100 kilometers. Along the valley, we will find numerous ancient mud-brick kasbahs, some of which can be visited, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes. Later, we will head to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Agdz - Nkob - Tazarine - Rissani - Merzouga Desert

Today, we continue our journey after breakfast at the hotel towards the Merzouga Desert, passing through Nkob and Tazarine. These towns offer a glimpse into traditional rural life in Morocco and the surrounding region, known for their richness in fossils. You can visit local shops and workshops to see a variety of fossils, including ammonites, trilobites, and orthoceras. Then, we will head to Rissani, an important city in the area that has been the capital of Tafilalt for centuries and a major stop on the trade route connecting the Sahara Desert with North African cities. It remains an important center for the neighboring population. We will visit the city and its weekly market, which is lively and vibrant with colors and fragrances.

After 40 km from there, we will finally arrive at our destination today, the Merzouga Desert. As you approach it, you will feel the warmth and tranquility that prevails in the place. Upon arrival, we will find a camel caravan waiting for us to start on another exceptional adventure with a camel guide towards the desert camp. Before reaching the camp, you will stop amidst the golden sand dunes to witness a beautiful and enchanting sunset. Then, we will continue the journey and reach the desert camp, where the reception staff will be waiting for you. A beautiful moment awaits you after dinner, as there will be a musical performance around the campfire under the starry sky.

Day 3: Erg chebbi - Merzouga - Erfoud - Tinghir - Todra Gorge - Boumalne Dades

Don’t miss out on the beautiful sunrise today, take a little walk next to the camp to get a great canvas of the bright colors of the sky and the fresh air of the desert.

After breakfast and a warm shower in the camp, you can return to Merzouga by camel or four-wheel drive where you will find the driver waiting for you to start the journey towards Boumalne Dades, we will pass the city of Erfoud famous for its fossil beds and its annual date festival, then Tingdad surrounding the beautiful green palm gardens, which creates a beautiful contrast with The surrounding desert scenery, then Tinghir, this city located in the picturesque Todgha Valley, we will have the opportunity to stop in a panoramic view of the valley and the traditional mud-brick buildings in a charming view.

Not far from here, we will visit the Todra Gorge, which is famous for its steep mountain slopes and narrow valleys. These valleys provide stunning views and an amazing experience for lovers of walking, cycling and climbing. We will have the opportunity to explore the site and then have lunch in a local restaurant.
Continue driving in the afternoon towards Boumalne Dades along the Grand Dades River in stunning landscapes. This picturesque area is characterized by magnificent red rock formations and vast palm gardens. We will visit a rocky cliff in the shape of a monkey’s finger known in the area and the Ait Sidrat corridor, then to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Boumalne Dades - kalaat Mgouna - Ait Ben Haddou - Telouet - Marrakech

After breakfast in Boumalne Dades, we continue our tour towards Marrakech, passing through the city of Kalaat Magouna, which is famous for the flowers that are grown in the region. Roses are used to make a variety of products, including perfumes, rose water, and cosmetics. We’ll visit the co-ops here and explore how they’re made.
Then we continue to Kasbah Amridil on the famous Skoura Road, the road of 1001 kasbahs, then to the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. The village is famous for its ancient kasbah that dates back to the 17th century, and many films were filmed here such as The Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and many others, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987, we will visit the Kasbah up close and walk in the surrounding palm groves, visit the workshops of local artisans and enjoy a charming landscape from the top of the Kasbah. We will have lunch in a local restaurant.
Not far from here, we will visit the Kasbah of Tlawit, passing through the Onila Valley, in beautiful views of the surrounding traditional Berber villages. We will visit the Kasbah, which is considered one of the important historical sites in the region and is popular among tourists. It is a wonderful cultural and historical landmark and is also a stunning example of traditional Moroccan architecture.
We continue driving to Marrakech on the Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n Tichka pass. We will stop at an altitude of 2260 meters in a beautiful and charming panoramic view of the pass and the neighboring villages, then we will reach Marrakech and head to the hotel for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 5: Marrakech - Agadir

In Marrakech, you will have the opportunity to visit this city and experience its culture on your own or with a local tour guide. There are various places in the vicinity that can host you, such as the lively and historical square in the heart of Marrakech, the UNESCO World Heritage Center. Additionally, you can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, located near Jemaa el-Fnaa square, which is the largest mosque in Marrakech. From there, you can explore the 19th-century Bahia Palace, reflecting the splendor and luxury of Moroccan architecture. Another prominent tourist destination in Marrakech is the Majorelle Garden, founded in the 18th century and designed in the traditional Andalusian style.

After exploring the city, we will continue our tour towards Agadir, which is approximately 3 hours away. We will drop you off at the hotel or airport, marking the end of our 5 days desert tour.
