We’ll visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, famous as a filming location for productions like Game of Thrones (2013) and Gladiator (2000).
Then, we’ll go to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate to the Desert,” where we’ll see the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios. We’ll then go to the Valley of Roses, which is popular for its yearly rose festival. After, we’ll go to Dades Gorges, a place known for its beautiful canyons, where we’ll stay the first night in a traditional Riad or hotel.
Day 2: Dades Gorges, Draa Valley, Rissani, Erg Chebbi Dunes (Merzouga)
Todra Gorge is an attractive, tight canyon that is adored by outdoor lovers. We will be seeing it on our 6 days trip from Marrakech. After that, we’ll go via Tinjdad, a town recognized as the entry point to the striking Erg Chebbi dunes, before arriving in Erfoud via The Ziz Valley. Erfoud is well-known for its artisans and distinctive fossils.
We may visit a nearby fossil business in Erfoud where craftspeople use fossils to make furniture and artwork. After that, we’ll go to Merzouga over the Sahara desert.
We’ll transition from cars to camels, sometimes referred to as “Desert ships,” at the edge of the golden sand dunes so we may ride into the sloping desert. Your guide will take you to enjoy a stunning sunset over the dunes, and you can try sandboarding for an added thrill.
We’ll spend the night in comfortable Berber-style tents at the well-equipped Merzouga Desert Camp. A typical starlit Berber meal over a campfire in the desert, accompanied by tribal music (drums), will make this particular evening unforgettable.
Day 3: Visiting nomad families and exploring the Merzouga area
We’ll visit the Merzouga desert on the third day of our 6 days trip from Marrakech. You will have the option to explore in a cozy 4×4 vehicle or go camel trekking. Also, we’ll go to the hamlet of Khamlia, which is well-known for its unique Gnawa music.
During our 4×4 adventure, we’ll explore the abandoned village of Mefes, famous for its lead mines that operated during the French colonial era.
We’ll also have the chance to go see a friendly nomad family that lives outside the Merzouga Sahara desert dunes. We’ll spend the night at a hotel or riad near Merzouga.

We’ll begin our tour by driving via Rissani, which is famous for its local souk, the largest market in the area, after breakfast at the hotel. We’ll continue driving through the palm groves and Ziz Valley until we arrive in Midelt, located in the Atlas Mountains.
After lunch in Midelt, we’ll head to the Azrou Cedar Forest, home to the playful Barbary Apes, and then to Ifrane, which is popular for its beautiful architecture, verdant gardens, and cleanliness. Because of the Michlifen Ski Resort, Ifrane is also a popular place for skiers. Ifrane is often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its exceptional characteristics and location, and then we’ll proceed to Fes, where we’ll spend the night at the Hotel or Riad.
