Day 1: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga desert
Distance: 470 km | Driving Time: Approx. 8 Hours
We pick you up from your Fes accommodation at 8:00 am. We drive south to Ifrane, known for its alpine architecture, before entering the Azrou cedar forests to observe the Barbary macaques. We stop for lunch in Midelt, the apple capital of Morocco. In the afternoon, we cross the Ziz Valley, stopping at panoramic viewpoints overlooking thousands of date palms. We arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon. We load your overnight bags into a 4×4 and introduce you to your camel guide. You ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset, arriving at our luxury desert camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Merzouga desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Valley

We wake you up early so you can climb the nearest dune and watch the Saharan sunrise. After breakfast and a hot shower at the camp, we drive to Rissani to visit its historic, traditional souk. We then drive to Tinghir and park near the Todra Gorge. We give you free time to walk along the riverbed beneath the massive 300-meter canyon walls. We finish the day driving into the Dades Valley, where we check you into a highly-rated boutique guest house for dinner and the night.
Day 3: Dades Valley ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Marrakech
Distance: 330 km | Driving Time: Approx. 6 Hours
After breakfast, we drive the “Road of 1001 Kasbahs” through the Valley of the Roses (Kalaa Mgouna) and the Skoura Oasis. We stop at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. We provide a guided walk through this 11th-century UNESCO World Heritage site and give you time for lunch overlooking the fortress. We complete the journey by crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi N’tichka pass (2,260 meters high). We drop you off at your Marrakech accommodation in the late afternoon.
